The Dog Shot First. (Index II- 13)

Imagine how Touma would look if she DIDN’T hurt anyone… I’d say he was just telling her to get back in the kitchen.

If you’re one of those people who felt sympathy for Oriana for being hounded down by three guys who wanted to stop her plot, then by all means, be my guest. But hearing Oriana say for the past few episodes that she had no intention of hurting anyone in the first place, and supposedly acting on self-defense, that’s where this trope comes in to play.

Sometimes this trope comes into play without Executive Meddling; the writer assumes that the Viewers Are Morons, and that they will lose sympathy with a hero who kills preemptively, even if, in the situation at hand, only a hero who was Too Dumb To Live would let the baddie live.

This is my Index post’s topic. Of course, there’s also the Trolling set to FULL THROTTLE that we see at the end of the episode.

Oriana didn’t INTEND to hurt anyone, but point is, she did. This would be a Shoot The Dog moment for Touma and friends, but the dog shot first. And as said above, It doesn’t always take executive meddling to pull it off.

Touma actually struggles for once. But you know what? I’m gonna admit, I like to see Touma Struggle a bit against a woman. That way she’ll prove to be one hell of an asset when that pimp hand of his establishes her into her harem. That’s usually the easiest way to add a woman into the Harem. Either he’s helped them at some point or he punched her in the face. I’m not gonna deny that Agnese is a part of his Harem when you think about how much she was clinging to him while wearing nothing but a bra and panties.

But more on that later. Stiyl had a fire attack planned but he tripped on a rock. Touma calls him Incompetent. His response?

This is Ayako’s doing.

So uh… Who the fuck uses the word Uber still though…?

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_04.21_[2011.01.08_18.18.54]

The fact that Stiyl is saying shit that a 14 year old would say (or the fact that the two are fighting each other to get a piece of that meat), this confuses Oriana.

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_04.29_[2011.01.08_18.19.08]

And so Touma punches her in the face, and Stiyl gets his fist right under her juggs. Wow. Stiyl’s direction is awkward.

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_04.38_[2011.01.08_18.19.23]

If this is about female equality, then she sure is getting it.

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_06.24_[2011.01.08_18.21.22][Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_07.08_[2011.01.08_18.22.15]

Yeeeaaaah. I’m… beginning to see why all the speeches would get on people’s nerves. Fortunately, Touma hasn’t gotten on my nerves with his speeches, mainly because I see this as psychological warfare.

In fact, if he DIDN’T do those speeches, he prolly wouldn’t have won half his fights because those speeches work in waivering the enemy whether they show it or not. >_>

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_08.01_[2011.01.08_18.23.32][Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_08.02_[2011.01.08_18.23.38]

Touma gets trolled hard

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_08.03_[2011.01.08_18.23.19]

That should teach you that punching every beam out with your right hand isn’t always wise. He shoulda just dodged it…It wasn’t coming THAT fast… >_>

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_08.14_[2011.01.08_18.23.54]

Touma seems to be down for the count! We even got blood on the screen as if I was watching someone play Call of Duty!

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_09.06_[2011.01.08_18.24.57][Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_09.06_[2011.01.08_18.25.03]

However, he suddenly went Hajime no Ippo on Oriana and knocked her right the fuck out.

The video speaks volumes.

Anyway, Touma knocked out Oriana. And you know what? I’m glad he did. This arc dragged on long enough. And on top of that, a flirtatious bombshell like Oriana would be fun to have in the harem. Her tits will put Index and Biri Biri to shame.

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_09.59_[2011.01.08_18.26.14][Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_11.02_[2011.01.08_18.27.24]

Alright, but I wanna admit that I was disappointed that Touma never got to punch Lidvia. Hell, I was disappointed at her defeat. There wasn’t a fight against her.

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_11.48_[2011.01.08_18.28.18][Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_13.19_[2011.01.08_18.29.53]

That’s how the threat of Crociro de Pietro ended. Fireworks.

No beat down of Lidvia or nothing. We got fireworks at the last minute. It wasn’t an asspull since it was foreshadowed back in episode 11, but… yeah. The fireworks covered the night sky of Academy City and averted the cross from being activated. I didn’t like the end part on Touma’s end, but I DID love when Laura trolled Lidvia HARD, ultimately leading to her death.

Lidvia was having fun making her own troll faces, but Laura totally showed her that a good troll face doesn’t make a good troll.

In short, Lidvia died from free fall. And even killed the pilot of the plane while she was at it just for good measure. Lidvia valued that sword a bit too much. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had died before even hitting the ground since she already started dying.

[Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_19.13_[2011.01.08_18.37.55][Ayako]_To_Aru_Majutsu_no_Index_II_-_13_[H264_1280x720][4C90E7A0].mkv_snapshot_19.24_[2011.01.08_18.38.16]

Oh Aliester Crowley. I’m gonna thank this guy. Because he pretty much just confirmed that he’s had his eye on Touma all along. Just so you guys remember, he’s the leader/president/head/whatever of Academy City. And in a way, he’s pulling a lot of strings. And he pretty much just mentions that the Imagine Breaker (Touma’s code name) is still unstable, implying that he’s the key to something and there’s more to his Right hand than we were lead to believe.

Hopefully next arc, which takes place in Italy, will prolly involve Crowley in some way. or at least maybe hint at that right hand… I WANN KNOW ALREADY.

Overall, I loved this episode, despite the faults. Mainly because of the epic airplane trolling.

That. Was. Amazing.

Ah, I hope I haven’t gotten rusty after a week of not blogging any shows. I did say I wouldn’t do any winter season shows, but I’ll continue to do Index and Bakuman (co-blog with Cidz), so ya.

Thanks for reading.
