Who could this adorable ball of cuteness be?

This episode finally reveals who the dog really is…. and also reveals how insane Clamp really is…..

Oh… and on a side note…  this episode and this blog will have spoilers from another Clamp series in it..  you just got more warning that I did >_<

So..  we start the episode with the cop coming to visit the shrine.  He is there to tell her father that the twins are still missing and that Saya should stay inside where it’s safe…

Huh? Nobody watching the crazy scene from the store window said anything to the cops about Saya??

Saya’s father then goes inside and sees a sad Saya that is worried about how she couldn’t save the twins…

Well... you have only saved one person so far... so why does it surprise you that you couldn't save the twins?

Saya then flashes to the strange voice asking her who she promised that she would protect everyone.  She wonders out loud who she promised and thinks maybe it was her mother… She starts to get another headache… then her father goes on to tell her she is the only Shrine Maiden who can fight the Elder Bairns.

Since you are the only Shrine Maiden we have at this shrine...

After this the narrator comes on again…  and it seems to be the same voice actor as the dog this time… he talks about an experiment…

So Saya in an experiment in moe and violence... not surprising...

The narrator seems to wake Saya up and she decides to go walking around town in her pajamas… without her sword.  She then runs into the doggy again… and this time realizes the voice she is hearing is coming from him…

Dun dun duuuunnnn...

They then go into a conversation about how the dog can talk and how Saya doesn’t feel that he is an Elder Bairn and he doesn’t seem to feel evil to her.  The dog goes on to tell her that some people can hide their evil…

Like the teacher... or the cafe guy...

Saya then asks why the dog has come to see her….  and the dog then explains… the cations are my true responses to what the dog is saying…>_<

Wait... this sounds familiar...

A shop that grants wishes?? Like in xxxholic??

I don't remember a guard dog in xxxholic....

Yuko?? No way.....

So, Saya thinks a dog made a wish for her??

I don't remember a dog making a wish before...

Saya then asks who made the wish and what the wish was…  the dog says he can’t answer those questions yet.  Then he tries once again to jog Saya’s memory about who she made her promise to protect the town too…

If your waiting for that dingbat to guess... this series is gonna have to be longer >_<

The dog then tells Saya a little more about the shop and how it works…

Oh yeah... this is the same shop as Yuko's shop... but that's a male voice...

Oh! That voice is Jun Fukuyama... the same as Watanuki in xxxholic. That dog is Watanuki in another form!

So.. Watanuki is granting wishes now? I really need to finish xxxholic I guess. Thanks for the spoiler Clamp!

So…  after Clamp got done spoiling the ending of my fav Clamp series…  we see Saya waking up in her bed again.  Saya then wonders if it’s a dream… until she feels the sweater she had put on before walking around town in the middle of the night…

How does Saya just appear back in bed without any knowledge of getting there?

Saya then gets ready for school…  and her dad gives her the sword and tells her to carry it around with her at all times.  On the way to school she stops by the cafe for some “magic” coffee… and some creepy conversation.

Stalk much?

The cafe guy then gives her some guimauve and she questions what he had said about it before…

"Let me touch it Sensei!"

Show me what it feels like Sensei!

"You want me to suck your finger?"

"You want me to put my lips on your finger??"

"Close.. but not my finger..."

"I'll go get some rape coffee so we can get started"

As Saya leaves the cafe guy sends lunch with her..  and a special snack.

This way you can eat them later and think about what they "feel" like...

After this Saya heads off to school..  everything around the school is empty and so is the school… she then runs into her teacher.  The teacher tells Saya that school is closed and that they haven’t found anyone who is missing.  She then talks about the story she told in class the other day about the monsters…

That's a far-fetched assumption.

The teacher then tells Saya to go home to her father…  One the way home Saya  talks to herself about how the teacher seems to know too much.  She then gets stopped by the town’s policeman and told to go home because it’s dangerous outside…

Someone could all of a sudden stab you in the back with a sword...

Like this....

Saya stands there stunned as she gets sprayed in the face with the cops blood…

I bet the cafe guy wants to do something similar to this...>_>

After this a huge guy in Samurai armour comes out of the ditch near them… he then proceeds to throw Saya around like a rag doll… and call her weak.   He then talks about how if she is this weak now it would be a shame to lose or win to her.  Saya says she has never fought him before and thinks he’s confused her with her mother.

"I've never been strong.. I always let me friends die."

The samurai monster then looks at her like she’s crazy and starts laughing… he tells her how her father has been lying to her and says that her father probably looked all serious when he said that he gave her a sacred blade.  Then he laughs some more…

I wouldn't laugh at her daddy complex if I were you...

He then asks if her father was the one who asks her to kill the monsters… and calls him a fool for doing so.

Don't mess with her father!

Saya then says that her father has supported her since her mother’s death…  the samurai monsters asks her what she is talking about… once again acting like Saya is crazy.  Saya then has some flash backs and tells the samurai that he is lying to her and trying to confuse her.  The samurai laughs again saying it’s the human who do the lying…

"Your daddy's a liar!"

The samurai then chases down Saya cutting up her back..  she turns to face him and he tells her it’s time for her to die.  Saya doesn’t react much to this till her tells her that he is going to go kill her father next…

Oh boy... I warned you not to mess with her father....

Saya then turns all red-eyed and starts to really fight…

Daddy complexes are stronger than you think!

The samurai monster then tells Saya that he can now feel the old her…

I'm beginning to think he gets off on her daddy complex O_o

Saya then starts to kick his ass…  before she slices him in half..  he tells her to ask her father who she really is…

I told you not to talk shit about her father...

After killing the samurai Saya then sees her reflection in the puddle of blood on the ground.  She starts to freak out a little…

"I can't believe I've had this blood beard the whole fight!"

Then comes along a confused but not freaked out Tokizane…

How long have you been there??

The last scene shows Watanuki on a telephone pole..  talking about how Saya needs to remember who she made that promise too.. so she can know who ask the shop…

For some reason Watanuki seems much happier as a dog...

Overall….

Why???  Why is Clamp so obsessed with adding other characters from other series in every series?  Plus..  I’m on not done with xxxhoilic…  I’m on volume 14 and it does seem to me that Yoku is kind of training Watanuki to take over her shop…  but nothing like that has happened yet.  I also haven’t seen the second animated series yet… but I really doubt they got past the part I’m reading in only 12 episodes.  So, why is Clamp trying to spoil people on xxxholic?  They could have easily made Watanuki say he came from a shop that grants wishes…  they didn’t need to make him say he owned it!!!!  Uggghhh…  Clamp never ceases to piss me off!

Other than the big Watanuki reveal.. it seems that she was warned by him that someone close to her is evil and hiding it.  So, the obvious ones are the cafe owner and the teacher…  the maybe not so obvious ones are her other classmates or maybe even her father.  Truthfully… it could be any or all of them that are evil.  The teacher knows stuff that’s for sure… and the cafe owner is slipping something into her food…  but this could all be orchestrated by her father for all we know.  That’s my guess… so far.  Once again I’m hoping for more clarification next episode!

Cidz:  It looks like the cafe guy is getting closer to Saya!  Though I’m sure her father complex is getting in the way of everything… and I’m sure that’s probably a bad end for Saya anyway!  It seems like the dog route has just really opened up since the dog’s true form is a human!  So, now Saya can really get with the dog if she chooses!  This anime is becoming more and more like an otomoe game everyday O_o
