#6: I’ll beat you, and beat you good

This week on P4A, things get a little more interesting as the team gets ready to begin investigating the murders. Also introduced is Kanji Tatsumi, a troubled youth, and a character who’s awesome, but isn’t named yet in the show, I mean, unless you take a quick glance at the OP. But yeah, it’s one hell of a ride this week. We start with an alone Margaret.

Kanji Tatsumi apparently took on a whole biker gang and won. And you know what, he probably did. He also likes little bear-bunny hybrid keychains that Yu gives back to him after he drops it. Yu and Nanako are enjoying their delicious meal, but Dojima calls and tells Yu that he has to cancel the plans for the days off. Yu’s going to chill with Nanako, though, so it’s no big deal. Chie stops by to see if Yu wants to hang out, and she lets Nanako come to. The gang’s all headed to Junes for some stake, courtesy of Brosuke. Everyone gets to know Nanko during the meet-up. And Yosuke gets a little passionate, but he’s dragged down by Yukiko, of all people. So now it’s decided that there’s going to be a cook off. And, uh, Yosuke probably feels guilty for asking Nanako about her mom, who had died in an accident. Seems like everyone likes her fairly well.

Back home, the family of three sits down to a meal, as well as some Children’s Day presents, like a funny shirt and some very fashionable swimming trunks. So now, there’s a few conclusions being drawn about the murders and attempts, in the conclusion that people who are connected to Yamano are being targeted. Not bad, Brosuke. At least you’re not like the Ace Defective. Then we get the exams montage, not bad, not bad at all. And some dinner over a news broadcast of a troubled youth, Kanji Tatsumi, the same troubled youth that Yu picked up the cell phone strap for earlier on. And then Yu sees Kanji on the Midnight Channel! The team discusses this new appearance, and finds the connection to Yamano, a dye house, like textile shop in junction with Kanji. So naturally, they head off there.

Inside the shop, oh my God, character. Squee. But enough about that, they talk to the owner for a few minutes. Just about if Kanji was home, but he’s not, so they’ve gotta leave. However, outside, they find him, talking to that strange person they saw inside the shop. And then he sees them spying on him. They decide that they’re going to have to stake out and spy on Kanji and this other person, after escaping his wrath. So the strange boy comes and gets Kanji from school the next day and they decide to follow him. Yu and Yukiko are going to stake out by the textile shop. Will the killer come by? Yu uses this time to pull a nice one and gain Yukiko’s coveted phone number. Yu, you’re such a boss. Meanwhile, Chie and Yosuke are spying on Kanji and the mysterious boy who called him away.

They’re totally talking. Then Chie gets hungry, so she decides to order some takeout from Aiya. Kanji sees them there and gets a little mad when they start talking about, or using the words “you” and “strange” in the same substance. So the chase begins as the two of them head to Yu and Yukiko’s location. Even amdist all of their danger, Aiya delivers Chie’s meal. That was kind of funny, even though it was anime-only. Not too much happened this week, but we’ve definitely got the bathhouse coming next week. I mean, did you see the new Midnight Channel? That’s seriously our troubled youth Kanji.

Show up for the next episode, Suspicious Tropical Paradise. (Hello dear viewers.)
