Mirai Nikki Episode 25 + 26 [FINAL] Finally…

April 17, 2012 in Currently Blogging Anime, Mirai Nikki/Future Diary

Ain't that the truth?

Man, you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this show to end.

Not that I think it’s bad or anything. I love the show. :) But I’m also ready to be focused on some newer shows coming out this season. That being said, I urge you all to watch Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine and Sakamichi no Apollon. I’d list off more series, but that’s too many, and this is supposed to be about Mirai Nikki. ;)

The last two episodes of Mirai Nikki take advantage of this plot twist, introducing a new side to Murmur, completely fucking with Yukki (as usual) and other shit.

Episode 25 is mostly action filled, including a showdown between Minene and Murmur, as well as a showdown between Yukki and Yuno, with Yuno in favor.

One thing I found interesting was Yuno’s father’s reaction to the ambulance being called to his house. It  was implied that Yuno’s mother issued most of the punishments and with Yuno’s father running out on them, saying she was going too far. Although he may have been putting on an act for the paramedics, his concern for Yuno did seem a bit genuine. Unfortunately, Yuno stabs him.

Don't say that like you had nothing to do with it!

Minene, on the other hand, is still trying to talk some sense into Yukki, but eventually leaves him at the school to do his own thing. While at the school, Yukki ponders the reason why he fell in love with Yuno in the first place, something that even I can’t figure out myself.

Yuno and Yukki have their little showdown in the school, with Yuno having the advantage with her godlike powers, as well as her future diary predicting his movements. Yukki’s only advantage is that he can read Yuno’s movements with his future diary. Murmur helps out in the showdown by destroying the school.

What is this, like the third time this poor school got the blown the fuck up? Geez...

Meanwhile, Minene makes a phone call to Keigo Kurusu, warning him about his son’s heart condition and that he should receive immediate medical attention, fulfilling her promise to him. During this scene, a piano instrumental of Blood Teller, the first ED plays in the background. I hope they plan to release it for download. I really like that song. <_<

Yukki attempts to negotiate with Yuno, but to no avail. Yuno doesn’t really want to listen. Instead, she throws a knife at him, but he is able to dodge it, thanks to Yuno being distracted by his words. Looks like Yuno is going soft on him. Just before Murmur can intervene more, Minene comes back with A PUNCH TO THE FAAAAAACE! From there, those two have their epic showdown as well. Yuno gains the upper hand, trying to avoid her own feelings and crush Yukki to itty bitty bits.

Meanwhile, we see Kurusu Keigo talking to Yuno’s mother about her missing daughter and husband. Just then, he gets the same call from Minene telling him about his son. One of the police officers alerts him of the explosions at the school and he grabs Nishijima and hauls his ass over.

Damned kids and their crank calls

Then we see the events of the other diary holders. 3rd loses one of his victims, because of the explosion. Cute little Rei, the 5th diary holder, watches the explosion from his house, wearing a diaper! We also see Tsubaki, the 6th diary holder, and Ai and Marco, the 7th holders. It appears Ai is still in highschool, judging from the school uniform on the wall. 8th is also watching the explosion, wearing pajamas! She actually looks pretty cute here, even if her head is abnormally large. Rin alerts her that she got a phone call from an important person, who may be 11th. 11th is also watching the explosion from his office building, as well as 10th, petting his cute little doggy. Finally, we see 12th apprehending an innocent citizen, only to be distracted as well.

Finally, we see Yukki, who seems to be in a illusion that Yuno created for him, where everything he wants is right there. A sweet jacket, a new dart, a weird looking bird he’s always wished for, and more importantly, parents who are alive and still married. This is a world that Yuno created where she does not exist. Yukki can’t even say her name when talking to her. Instead, it sounds muffled. Yuno goes on to tell Yukki that she would have loved anyone she became dependent on, and he would have loved anyone who protected him. She creates another illusion where Wakaba returns his feelings and begins to strip, but Yukki doesn’t take this the right way.

I know she's lying but goddamn it made my day to hear that.

Meanwhile, Minene finishes her fight with Murmur and prepares to face Yuno in a showdown. Unfortunately, Yuno breaks the seals off of Murmur and allows for her true self to show, fighting Minene once more.

Jesus christ, that is scary. :|

Yukki has a lovely conversation with his parents about how they’re going to see the stars together as one happy family. There is a weird transition where they show scenes from Murmur and Minene’s fight and they keep cutting back to Yukki’s happy illusion, to the point where it becomes a little funny. During this time, Minene gets her new arm ripped off again. ;_;

Yukki begins crying over breakfast and tells his parents about the most bizarre dream, where he was in a survival game and he had a girlfriend who killed people for him.

Also, you guys were divorced, and dad stabbed mom and then he died the next week. Itadakimasu!

Murmur ends up the victor of the fight, sadly, and Yuno proceeds to drop Minene’s body from the school roof. :( Yuno looks back at her third world body and holds the knife, just before the end credits pop up.

During the Murmur sequence at the end, Murmur basically keeps Yuno’s dad from being a pervert, by turning her into a baby , shrinking her and making her boobs smaller.

Murmur, stop.

And now on to the final episode of Mirai Nikki!

Or is it? :|

Still hung up on the stars

Yup, little Yukiteru sure is happy in his fake world with his fake parents and his fake happy life without his fake girlfriend. He finally gets to fulfill his wish of seeing the stars with his parents, even if it is kind of fake. We see Yukki interacting with his parents as though they are a happy normal family, unlike before. To be honest, this scene didn’t make me hate Yukki’s dad like before. If only he wasn’t a huge douchebag.

You'll never believe it though

Meanwhile, Murmur is making plans with Yuno’s father, healing his wounds and setting him down nice and gentle on the roof of the school before she goes off to start more shit. Yuno is just about to kill Third World Yuno, but she awakens, unaware of who Yuno is. Yuno tells her third world self about her future, where her mother falls deeper into depression and dad never comes home from work anymore and mother takes it out on her by being even more abusive. She even includes the part where she locks them in a cage.

Or you'll end up accidentally killing them because they never changed.

Third World Yuno, despite all she has been through so far, thinks Yuno is full of shit, and instead decides that her mother is just sick and that she’ll get better soon. Her dad has been too busy with work, but soon, he’ll start coming home more often. Even if they are monsters, they will come to understand her feelings. There’s no need to lock them in a cage like Yuno did.

Says the girl who was eating tatami in the cage.

Gosh, I really like Third World Yuno. :(

Yuno is all like “Fuck man, when the hell did I become so crazy?” and then tries to justify her reasons for having to kill Third World Yuno. But Third World Yuno also declares that she has someone she loves too.

Meanwhile, the futures of the other diary holders, including Yukki, are changing. Yukki suddenly remembers that he has more important things to do, like getting killed by his girlfriend, and decides to leave his parents. Well, at least he finally snapped out of it, and his fake parents totally understood.

FINALLY coming to your senses, I see.

Back in the real world, Kurusu and Nishijima arrive on the scene with Yuno’s mother. From the top of the roof, she sees Yuno’s father alive and walking and decides to go after him. Murmur orders Yuno to go ahead and kill her Third World self.

Kurusu orders Nishijima to search the area for injured victims, and sure enough, Nishijima finds Minene, his future past future fiancee or whatever the fuck she is. YAY, THEY REUNITED! :))

Hey, you look an awful like that wanted terrorist... Will you marry me?

However, Minene isn’t the only lucky one. All over Sakurami City, everyone’s future is being rewritten. Back at the Sacred Eye Cult, one of the followers finds a bomb in the car of the founders, Tsubaki’s parents. Tsubaki rightfully suspects Funatsu, and he kind of admits to it anyway. Therefore, her future has changed and her parents aren’t dead after all.

She's saved!!!

Because of this, Rei’s parents didn’t get sucked into the cult business and lived happily together, actually raising him and being a happy family together. :)

D'awwwwwwwww

12th apprehends 3rd, arresting him and throwing him in jail. Yeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhh! He finally did something righteous!

SURPRISE BUTTSECKS

Back at 10th’s house, 10th is wondering why the hell his dogs aren’t barking at all the commotion. As it turns out, Hinata has been feeding them everyday, without him knowing, making the dogs grow to like her more. This surprises 10th, probably making him turn into a good father after all.

Father-daughter bonding, woohoo!

At the orphanage, 8th gets a phone call from 11th, the mayor, discussing plans for receiving help from the government. They don’t really mention what they’ve been talking about, but in the manga, 11th tells her that her assistance has been cut off for now, because of the future diaries predicting his future and the end of the survival game.

Why so moe Pumpkinhead?

Nothing much happens with Marco and Ai, except that they just go back to sleep after calling Rin.

AAAAAAAAA THEY'RE ALIVE AND OK AND TOGETHER ;O;

Since 11th had the advantage of predicting his own future and the futures of the other diary holders, he tells Deus the game has been cancelled. This is either because he loses or because the winner is stupid enough to go to the past and play the game over and over again. Deus decides that he needs to find a new way to choose the new god.

This game is only fair if I win!

Good luck with that bro.

Cutting back to Yuno, we see her about to stab her third world self. However, her father leaps in just in time to protect his daughter and take a knife to the shoulder. Maybe he’s not so bad after all. :’)

Where the hell did you even come from?

Thanks to Yukki changing the future, Yuno’s dreams of having her parents working together and understanding her feelings finally comes true, though a bit too late for her. At least Third World Yuno is safe for now. Kurusu arrives on the floor of the building, pointing a gun at Yuno.

Last episode, and he finally sets his head on straight. Typical.

Yukki, still in his imaginary world manages to break free, by attempting to call Yuno’s name over and over. Kurusu shoots the gun at Yuno just as she is about to stab her parents and other self. However, Yukki isn’t the only one to break free. Murmur from the second world also breaks free, stopping the bullet from hitting Yuno as Yukki embraces her. 2nd Murmur confronts 1st Murmur, holding her down and ripping the band-aid off her forehead, revealing the number 1.

Fantastic idea!

Yukki continues to hold Yuno, convincing her to kill Yukki and go back to the second world and become god. She doesn’t really belong here, especially after seeing that Third World Yuno’s parents actually care for her. Yeah, Third World Yuno might be a bit too forgiving, but at least they’re happy right now. Murmur 1 and Murmur 2 look on, while Yuno’s diary reads that she stabs Yukki. So, she brings the knife to him.

GODDAMMIT

However, Yuno actually changed the future and stabbed herself instead. I guess she was a sweet girlfriend after all.

Just before she drops dead, she and Yukki kiss one last time, with Yuno commenting that he’s gotten better at kissing.

;_________;

Murmur and Yukki make a time leap back to the second world, where the world is still being destroyed. However, his new reign as the new god of this world allows the destruction to stop, and Yukki continues to live a sad and lonely existence forever and ever. The end! :)

Famous last words

I almost ALLLLLLMOST feel a little tiny bit bad for him.

What happened to everyone in the third world? Well….

The news reports that terrorist, Minene Uryuu has entered Japan. Now it’s up to Nishijima and the rest of the police crew to stop her. God Minene watches the news with her two floating kids, Nishinene and Minejima. Nishijima kisses Minene goodbye as he heads off to work, which still doesn’t really sit well with her. Those two are sooooo cute! :)) <3 Happy ending!

BABIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! And it looks like Minene kept her god powers too!

D'awwwww I just wanna pinch dat cheek~

We see Kurusu outside of the hospital with his wife and son, who has probably already done the treatment for his bad heart. And it looks like his son got to eat his donuts after all! Happy ending!

4th's son got the help he needed! Good job, Minene!

12th makes regular visits to prison to see 3rd, who is starting to get annoyed by him checking up on him all the time. Happy ending, for 12th I guess!

12th is unexpectedly kind of good-looking!

WHERE DID ALL THESE SHIPPER FEELS COME FROM?

Marco and Ai are seen chatting outside of a cafe. It looks like Marco has taken a job as a nurse or something. Idk, but it looks like he’s wearing scrubs. Not to mention, the people at his job think his hairstyle is weird. And it looks like Ai is pregnant and about to have a baby! Hooray! Happy ending!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA MORE BABIESSSSSSSS :' ;)

Nearby, at a water fountain, Rei is living happily with his normal parents as they teach him how to walk! Happy ending!

Please don't grow up to be a serial killer!!!

At the Sacred Eye Cult, Tsubaki is happily sleeping and her parents tuck her in. She makes a weird happy face… Happy ending!

....

To everyone’s surprise at the orphanage, the Mayor has come by to pick up 8th for a hot date! Possibly to discuss future plans for assistance for the orphange, but for now I’m just going to assume that they fall in love and get married and his wealth is enough to assist the orphanage. Not to mention, they have 5 pumpkinheaded babies. Happy ending!

They're alive! ;O;

Hot date with the mayor!

We see Kousaka once more (hooray!) with Akise, Hinata and Mao, as they play with Hinata’s dog together at the park. I guess it’s safe to assume that the kids from the old school still had to transfer schools after it got blown up. I’m a bit surprised Akise is around, all things considered, but at least it’s a happy ending for all four of them. I’m pretty sure Akise is still an observer for Deus. I just hope Kousaka is still the arrogant dick we know and love. Happy ending!

Kousaka, you are just full of win aren't you?

Also, 10th and Hinata are a happy family. Happy ending!

Deus and Murmur are happy to report that the interference from the other dimensions has completely disappeared. Happy ending!

Yuno is seen spending time with friends, as well as documenting her family’s moments in her diary, her Happy Family diary. Happy ending!

Oh, so they stopped locking her in a cage. Wow. Good for them.

As Yuno looks outside, she sees Yukki and Wakaba walking hand in hand with Yukki’s parents on the sidewalk. Yuno feels like she’s forgotten something important, and we see a little phone charm of Murmur 1 blinking her eyes. Creepy. But yay, happy ending for Yukki!

I give them a few months tops before it all goes to hell.

ERRYBODY GET A HAPPY ENDING!

Except God Yukki, who still lives a lonely sad existence, even after 10,000 years. He hasn’t done shit as god, instead reading the last diary entry of his phone. He doesn’t know how the third world turned out, so he can’t see Yuno being happy. Murmur 1 has been reading the same manga over and over all these years too. Wow Yukki. Even as a god, I still hate you. :|

Worst God ever!

Also, his hair grew and it looks stupid.

And so, Mirai Nikki has finally ended. Now I can finally move on from this series and concentrate on the Spring Season.

FUCK!

….or not. :|

So, I finished the manga, including the spin offs. The manga had a really stupid epilogue, that they left out of the anime. I’m just going to go ahead and say what it was. Ready?

Show ▼

Which is great and all, but really??? Ugh. And you know they’re probably basing the “NEXT PROJECT” on this bullshit to try to expand on it. I just wanted this series to be over! Although, I did want Yukki and Third World Yuno to end up together, so yay I guess. <_<

It really was a fun series to watch and I liked it but no more!!! :(

Anyway, one thing has been bugging me about this.

How on earth does Nishijima explain to his family and colleagues that he married a god terrorist from the future?

“Hey Chief! Remember that terrorist we were after? Well, it turns out she’s a god from another dimension and I married her and had two kids!”

Really, I’d like to see them touch on that a bit.

Anywho, we’re finally done for now. Hope you guys enjoyed the ride as much as I did.

Also, I’d like to thank my good friend Girrrrrl, for going through the trouble of screencapping this show for me and making up captions. You’ve been a great help!
