Tsuritama 2: When the Balls Touch
April 20, 2012 in Tsuritama

Natsuki knows what's up
In our most fabulous episode of Tsuritama, a combination of being pushed further into fishing by Haru and Natsuki acting like a d-bag towards Yuki has resulted in him being at an all-time high when it comes to his pressure issues. However, will being assertive be the key to fixing his problems or will others have to change their behavior to help Yuki out of his stress? Find out if you’re a brosky enough
We begin with Yuki talking about meeting Haru and the crap he put him through in the 1st ep, but that’s not too important as we head into our OP. I shit you not, this is by far the best OP this season can offer. It’s like my eyes picked up giant barrels of technicolor candies and started dumping it all over themselves in a tremendous candy bukkake.
After the OP, Haru is enjoying himself at the table much to Yuki’s confusion/dismay as he is having a great time eating her miso soup with whitebait corpses floating about in it.

They also take part in home invasion, figuratively and literally
It’s here where we see that Haru is trying to worm his way into all facets of Yuki’s life from squirting him with the gun to coerce him into more dancing to trying to snuggle with him either out of fear for cats or just for the sake of snuggling like what me and mah uke do.

He already slept with his grandmother so he may as well conquer their entire family with his alien johnson
After being zonked out again, Yuki finds himself on the roof of a tower as he meets Haru’s sister Coco, another big ball of cuteness who pressures Yuki into helping them fish some more because for some undisclosed reason, the fate of the world depends on Yuki going fishing with them.

I can see clearly that moe is embedded in their family genes
With another spray of the watergun, they go to the fishing shop where Natsuki works at where we discover that he actually isn’t such a massive prick when his sister arrives. With her help and cheeriness, Natsuki summons up the gumption and strength to comply with Haru’s demands.

And can you really say "no" to a face like this?
Luckily, there is more misery to be had as Natsuki is trying to rush teaching them how to assemble the fishing pole. However, Yuki sees firsthand the powers of the squirt gun when he sees Haru use it on Natsuki to command him to teach them at a slower pace. As expected, this makes Yuki feel relaxed about Haru’s power over him and Natsuki.

No one will do anything cause everyone will be as dead as disco if you fail
When it does come down to fishing, the main aspect that Yuki fails at badly is making the uni knot to make sure the tackle doesn’t fall out. Low and behold when Yuki decides to wing it without the uni knot, the fish takes Yuki’s tackle. The resulting scene is a tumultuous tirade from Natsuki about his lack of concern and Yuki finally blowing his gasket and running away.

This is going from constructive criticism to downright bullying
After humiliation one of his new friends, Natsuki goes home to find that his father his hanging out with a younger woman that he seems to be hitting it off with. Natsuki is distraught that he would get with another just two years after their mom left/died, but pops insists that it’s been long enough as he drowns out his son’s angst with a can of beer.

I'm doing what you kids call "getting punani"
On Haru’s front, he finds that Yuki is avoiding him and doesn’t want to answer the door for him as he knocks and begs for some time together. Haru is consulted by Yuki’s hot grandma on how if he really loves Yuki, he would leave him be to give him time to think and do anything that he asks him to do.

"I also feel very tingly downstairs"
On Yuki’s front, he’s having a horrific dream about all the times that Natsuki mocked him for his lack of fishing skills where he finds his resolve in that he is finally able to respond to it after all this time. The next day, Yuki decides to hang out with Haru and wants to continue fishing with him but in exchange he wants Haru to stop using the squirt gun on him as it creeps him out. Once the coast was clear, Akira erupts from the ground to report on his findings.

How was he able to breathe in the sand for that long?
Through this newfound courage, Yuki also summons the courage to go ahead and show Natsuki the uni knot that he fixed, hoping that it’ll motivate him to go onboard with teaching them more about fishing. Natsuki is uber tsundere about it as he is quick to smile, but changes it to a frown as he’s all like “RAWRZ it’s not like I care about you baka”

It's only a matter time before that smile remains permanent. We'll get you soon enough
The episode ends as there happens to be a new student at school with Akira joining the class despite the fact that he is in his mid-20′s. One interesting thing about the scene is that Haru is actually someone shaken by the fact that Akira is joining them, so that’s bound to bring some penny for your thoughts.

"But I have come on an important mission to pursue young girls...............doozo yoroshiku!"
Two episodes in, the characters are growing on me pretty well with Yuki’s struggles becoming a little more sympathetic and Haru developing into a more understanding being who is more than happy to comply with Yuki’s wish to stop having the squirt gun be used on him. Even Kaname who was a total jerkass got some redemption with his family life and his last minute decision to help Yuki become a better fisher. Akira is as funny as ever though it’s going to be interesting to see his role next time now that he’s a student at everyone’s highschool.

I loved the OP in this one!
Haru’s sister is pretty cool. Akira is a lot more interesting this time around. A bit surprised that he’s 25 years old.
Tapioca remains my favorite character.
Akira is my new husbando, knowing that he is 25 and not high school aged LOL but yeah, I’m really curious to see what his role in all this will be. I hope it’s not an antagonistic one (in regards to Haru… alien vs. secret agent ???)
