Zetman 03: WHY.

April 19, 2012 in ZETMAN

Don't say it like that.

In this episode, we carry off from the previous one where we had that shocking cliffhanger!

Will Jin be able to get back his auntie? Before knowing, let me make a small rant.  You guys seen the episode already i’m sure.

Argh… So now that i’ve gone back and read the manga just for the sake of comparison, i have to say, what i’ve read was way superior. :|

I mean, sure, violence is uncensored, and that’s fine and dandy. But what really sold me was how the manga’s execution went.

LEt’s think about it.

Remember the whole Fake ZET thing? They skipped the part with Granddad Amagi manipulating Jin’s concious, making him talk to the deceased Kanzaki.

tl;dr: SUPER POWERED EVIL SIDE/SUPER SAIYAN

Kanzaki was supposed to tell him this when Jin was being mind controlled by the docs.

It’s the key to Jin transforming into the true form of ZET, since apparently the real ZET is supposed to be red, not white. (The color bit is stated in the anime at least though.)

Another thing i’m a bit upset about is Akemi’s mauling by the fake ZET. The monster was supposed to be EATING her.

OM NOM

Not to mention, Akemi getting the bullet to the head prior…

But the anime wasn’t gonna show a woman having her brains blown out…

Anyway, that’s just an example of what the Anime’s been cutting out so far…

And honestly, i felt like the pacing was a little all over the place again, even worse than the first episode.

But I might be biased BECAUSE i read the manga again, refreshing my memory.

They even missed the opportunity to start Kouga’s side of the story too. Although, i think there might be trouble animating that one without cutting out all the violence and rape scenes…

Ah well. This episode practically animated Volume 3 of the manga (most of it), and some of Volume 6. I swear, it’s lunacy.

And when this scene with Kouga and his sister happened, his room was supposed to be filled to the brim with Alphaz products (toys, action figures, DVDs, ect.), showing just how obsessive Kouga’s idealism really is!

Argh…  reading the source material can really piss you off when you know some shit ain’t done right. Especially the emotion.

The bullet hole in her head looks like a rose blooming in her hair. :|

I probably wouldn’tve said this episode wasn’t that bad if i didn’t remember the source material now.

My god, I should  try to find pros, but… eh…

I can’t even say I liked the episode without lying to myself.

If I compare the episode to the source, I’d say the anime didn’t portray the emotion right. It wasn’t… strong enough, I think.
