Zetman 04: Not living up to my hype
That pacing is just so off the wall, it’s ridiculous.
They’re practically on VOLUME SIX already of the manga.
Gotta instead, give two timeskips in the span of only 4 episodes. What the hell is TMS thinking?
If they were gonna do a proper adaptation in the span of 13 episodes, they should’ve started AT THIS point, not when Jin as a kid.
Because of that, we got a bunch of idiots who preferred it when they were kids. And that alone lets me know that they most likely didn’t read the manga.
As i watch this episode, we get Tanaka, a charming tomboyish braceface, a first (well… or me anyway) in an anime. Seriously, I’ve never seen an anime girl with braces before. And for some reason that makes her really cute.
Then again, i did find braces on cute girls to be quite the turn-on back in high school.
That said, I also gotta go on about this scene, when Jin gets his famous jacket. The problem is, that jacket DOES rip.
Its not supposed to blend into the skin so quickly. That effect is due to a type of spray that those EVOL players had in the manga, in which they spray on their clothes. Jin doesn’t get some of that till later on when the spray is reproduced.
I’m beginning to think this anime is going in it’s own original direction at this rate, while maintaining aspects of the manga.
Let’s look at Jirou. That little man with the white hair.
Ah… i’ll be saying major spoilers, so click that button if you wanna know what i’m talking about.
Anywho, with that spoiler out of the way, at least they somewhat adapted the scene with Jin saving Tanaka from the players, blah blah, cliffhanger with Jin getting backstabbed by the sweeper.
You know… spoiler here… Show ▼
This adaptation worries me on if they’ll get things right. I get good action in exchange for terrible pacing. Seriously. Might as well go full blown original content at this point.
Notice how my posts aren’t all fan gushing? Bah…
I’m mostly oblivious to bad pacing honestly, but if i read the original material, then the pacing becomes blatantly obvious… eh… I guess i DID notice the bad pacing in episode one, but i was… being selectively oblivious. =\
