Medaka Box – 04

04A: Make your choice!!

This week, our cliffhanger from last week is resolved, with a judo fight to the death!

Okay, so maybe not to the death, but it was still great seeing Zenkichi and Akune going head to head in some judo matches, while Medaka and Nabeshima talked on the sidelines. After all of the beatings he took, Akune ended up with nine out of ten points, but, this is anime, it’s never over for the main character just like that. Or at least, not in this show. Medaka says that he has to win or she’ll cry, which sends him into his ultimate strength mode and allows him to take down Akune for the win. Yeah, that’s what happened, but Zenkichi is in for a surprise now. Akune has, in fact, decided to join the school council with Zenkichi and Medaka, and his role is the secretary. Nabeshima had passed the leader position of the judo club to the one student that was brave enough to take on Medaka when they were deciding, and said that she won’t give up on Zenkichi. The intense rivalry between Akune and Zenkichi for Medaka is just firing up, and we’ve got a lot of episodes left, so their brotherly qualms will only add more comedy to an already great series. I also happened to really like the eyecatch this week, so I went ahead and capped it.

04B: If you’re going to make a wish…

After the flower-watering, chest-busting first scene, Zenkichi informs Akune that Medaka’s accepted a request from the suggestion box. This time, it’s third-year Yatsushiro, who needs help writing a letter. It should be no problem, as Medaka is a master of calligraphy, with legendary handwriting. However, she says that there’s someone who is better suited for it. None other than our resident secretary, Akune. He doesn’t quite succeed, however, as he was probably writing all fancy like, and not truly sincere. That’s because it’s Yatsushiro herself that needs to write the letter. Zenkichi and Shiranui discussed the current situation as Shiranui ate food the size of her body. Telling you guys… pure evil. Anyway, back to the task at hand. Akune’s not one to give up after a failure, so he gives Yatsushiro a bunch of books on how to convey her feelings through words. After all, it’s up to the student council to go above and beyond. She manages to get her letter written after many a day and night, and it looks like Akune gets a perfect score from Medaka. Perhaps he’s one step closer to having his true love. So ends another fun-filled week of Medaka Box. Sorry for lateness… WordPress is bad with pics lately. If I remember, I’ll post the last four caps.
