Martinman: I was sad that Yurika cut her hair, but I guess that is some kind of significant thing in Japanese culture, at least as far as I can tell from the anime I’ve seen.

Ghosty: I am a huge fan of short hair, but I thought she was cuter with long hair
Ghosty: however, the short hair made her seem much more mature

Apparently Martinman had too much to drink and passed out on his couch.
But I hope I’m not the only one who noticed Ritsuko’s friend looking in Maruo’s direction when they were talking about knitting.
Maybe he will pick up the sax after all. 
Also, I wanted to discuss more differences in the manga and the anime.
When Yurika cut her hair, people were spreading rumors about her being seen with an older guy who looked washed up (which was true, but you know). Despite his feelings, Sentarou punched the fuck out of guys who were spreading this word to the school. What a noble gentleman!

I don’t remember if I ever mentioned this part before, but Sentarou had learned how to play the drums by a guy named Roy who frequented the bar Tsutomu goes to. After Roy left, Tsutomu bought the drumset he left behind and allowed Sentarou to practice in the basement as much as he wanted, which is how he met Junichi. I sure wish they kept this in the anime.

so i take it the manga is more fleshed out then the anime? im enjoying the anime i might read the manga but not until after the anime lol. well maybe ill wait awhile cuz im kinda lazeh with reading mangas of animes ive already seen (unless its to cont. on with the story and even then i usually pick up where the anime left off lol)
anyway, it was pretty awesome to see jun pull yurika into the train like that haha…im sure once they reach his bedroom theyll do more then just give him a haircut >_> <3
also idk about ritsu i mean i guess she likes kaoru now? or did she always like him? but then she rejected him for sentarou and now that she sees karou with a buncha betches shes all jelly and wants him for herself? pfftt….
Nah, I think Ritsuko really started to like Kaoru before the culture festival. Remember, she was reluctant to go to the beach until Kaoru said he would go?
Also, I’m sure she started to actually like him when she saw him play at the concert, especially when he played My Favorite Things.
I’m sure having the girls all over Kaoru maaaaay have helped push her a bit, but it’s definitely not the only reason.
She made a wise choice leaving him for Tokyo.
Leaving her parents I mean.
Man, I really have diarrhea of the mouth when I drink.
But the Margarita Of Doom will do that to a man.
I thought Jun was going to be a massive bum at first but now I see that him and Yurika are great for each other, though I think it would’ve been better if they showed more of the parents being assholes so that we could feel for Yurika as much as Jun when they showed what he went through in Tokyo.
Lulz at the poor bastard in Seiji’s band who never be able to be like The Beatles because Seiji is busy shaking his bum in a toga and loving pop music.
Speaking of that, The Spiders is an old Japanese band that was a part of the Group Sounds movement in Japan (essentially when bands sought inspiration from The Beatles by combining rock music with kayoukyoku, western style lyrics-based pop music). As such, The Spiders were like the Japanese equivalent of the Beach Boys and starred in cutesy Monkees-esque movies. The song you all heard in this episode was “Bang Bang Bang”:
