I can't fault her for thinking her dad irreplaceable. It's certainly not "my mom can't have a boyfriend while I can", like some misinterpreted it. She's not going to think of her own romance problems at such an hour. - while she does the wrong thing, she admits she overreacted because the suddenness of the thing left her confused. She wasn't thinking clearly. - she's not being flirtatious when she briefly leans against Junichi during their talk. That was just being human, the sense of touch means reassurance. For me, this whole subplot added depth and humanity to the story. Friendship and romance isn't all fun and games, you go through some bumps too. That's always welcome in my book. Just as she sees him vulnerable at the start of the story, he sees her vulnerable now, and what do they do in both cases? They help each other up. I'd argue she's even more vulnerable here than he was then, because ties to parents normally run deeper than ties to partners, right? It was all raw. Late to the party, but:
