Sengoku BASARA season 2

We’re back for another season of MANLINESS, BADASSERY, and GAR.

I already did the recap of Season one, so let’s not waste time in covering Season 2. By the way, the OP is by T.M. Revolution, the guys who are known for doing the first opening to Soul Eater.

So… some time after the defeat of Nobunaga Oda from last season, The states are back to war with each other and it actually looks like everyone’s having fun.

We’re introduced to a few new characters, as well as some returning ones. Hell, even some characters that didn’t have a role last season, are revealed to definitely have a bigger role THIS time around.

The white haired guy on the left, is Motochika. Apparently the nicest guy that Keiji’s ever met.
The guy on the right with the ring-blade, is Motonari. He’s quite a mystery right now, but we’ll prolly know more about him later on.

Both of these guys were seen in the first and final episodes of season one, and only had a few lines.

Episode one:

Date Masamune, the One-eyed dragon of Oshu.

This guy is back, and his ENGRISH is as epic as ever. No seriously, you’d have to be deaf to not think that his ENGRISH is epic.

Yukimura is also back, with his burning passion for a good fight! He immediately challenges Date to a fight and he accepts!

Yeah, as you can see, there’s even a CROWD there to cheer the fight on. These guys had our (the viewers) reactions to seeing these two go at it.

Alas, Yukimura actually loses the fight, and just before he could be slain by Date…

This guy shows up. This guy… Toyotomi Hideyoshi…

As you know, many variations of the Warring-states era, in films, shows and such, portray Hideyoshi Toyotomi as a small cheeky bastard monkey.

Well… in this show, this is the same Hideyoshi… but this time… he’s as big as a fuckin’ GORILLA.

He surrounds the Uesugi, Takeda, and the Date armies with his own huge army. And Hideyoshi’s army… is HUGE.

Hideyoshi shows his power by not deflecting, but REFLECTING every single arrow that the opposing armies shot at him. THIS GUY IS MORE POWERFUL THAN NOBUNAGA.

Cuz you know DAMN well that Nobunaga NEVER pulled that shit off before.

His fist… HIS FIST, pierced the heavens.

WHO NEEDS A DRILL TO PIERCE THE HEAVENS WHEN YOU CAN USE YOUR FIST?!

Up yours, TTGL.

And this white haired bishie here is Hideyoshi’s right hand man. His name is Hanbei Takenaka.

Date fights Hideyoshi and Koujiro fights Hanbei. The fight is short lived when the armies manage to escape the clutches of the Hideyoshi clan.

Yukimura suffered a defeat by Date, and Date himself wasn’t too pleased that he couldn’t even lay a scratch on Hideyoshi.

Remember Maeda Keiji? The happy fun loving guy from season one? Well you’ll notice that he’ll have a bigger role to play in this season when it’s reavealed in this episode that he used to be friends with Hideyoshi Toyotomi!

The Maeda clan, the clan that Keiji’s from, but not actively working FOR, lets Keiji know that they’ve joined Hideyoshi.

Toshiie, Keiji’s brother (I think) actually agrees with Hideyoshi’s views of making Japan a much STRONGER country.

This makes Keiji leave the house for a while, because he disagrees with Hideyoshi’s views, considering the gorilla man is a Well Intentioned Extremist… No wonder Keiji stopped being friends with the guy.

Here’s our GAR general, Shingen Takeda!

As you can see, he still beats the shit out of Yukimura on a regular basis.

How Yukimura can keep getting up after all of those punches is beyond me. But it’s hilarious seeing the MANLINESS between those two.

Alas, Shingen gets Yukimura to take his forces and head west.

Meanwhile, Koujiro and Date (The latter who is still pissed off about Hideyoshi), have a meeting with the troops, and they reveal the possibility of a spy amongst their own forces.

How else could Hideyoshi have known that not only the Uesugi clan and Takeda clan, but also the Date clan would be there?

And of course, Koujiro meets…

EP:2

Hanbei Takenada in the middle of the night, hoping to make Koujiro join Hideyoshi.

Of course, he quickly refuses.

This leads to a fight between Koujiro and Hanbei. Hanbei also had his men with him, who also took some hostages.

On top of that, Hanbei’s weapon is a WHIP sword.

Guess who lost this fight?

Ah, i forgot to mention… Kenshin and Kasuga are back too. And Kenshin is as flirtatious as ever with his… BEAUTIFUL BLADE.

aaaaaaand we’re back to seeing her have an orgasm.

Except… Keiji was there.

Guess what his response to that was.

“WAT.”

As for Date, he gathers his men and heads off to fight Hideyoshi’s army since he learned of Koujiro’s kidnapping.

He fights Hanbei and the rest of his men, even MORE pissed off.

The Engrish Date delivers here is GAR sauce.

COME ON! ITS NOT OVER YET!

Said that WHOLE like in engrish.

And then he goes off to kick some MORE ass.

Yeah, it’s safe to say, Basara Season two is off to a great start. It’s so AWESOME. No, mainly because it’s just flat out fun to watch.

As i said before, this show is for the sole purpose of entertainment and MANLINESS. Hell, TTGL pales in comparison to GARness when it comes to this show. There are so many moments of Badassary and GAR that you’ll wanna kick TTGL itself to the curb. Fuck logic.

Yeah, i said it. TTGL is fucking overrated anyway. Bite me. To those who worship the ground TTGL walks on. FUDGE YEAR.
