Sengoku Basara season 2 ep. 3

Now i’m gonna tell ya, This episode was pretty awesome.

But it also made me go WHAT THE FUCK by the end of it. I’ll get to that later of course.

So Keiji goes to try and stop his uncle Toshiie and aunt(in law) Matsu from advancing to Echigo to fight for Kenshin’s lands. Toshiie stated that the Maeda clan is working under Hideyoshi, so this is basically Hideyoshi’s first mission for them, and Toshiie intends to see it through to the very end.

Kenshin of course, knows just how to handle the situation of being invaded. He predicted that Toshiie would bring his forces ahead of time, so Kenshin had a few of his forces head to Toshiie’s land. Basic retaliation. This [eventually] forces Toshie to go back.

Apparently the forces that Kenshin sent didn’t go to Toshiie’s land at all! they were there WAITING For him all along! And Toshiie and his men decided to break through the lines and take’em all out. Keiji arrives just in time though, but he made up his mind to stop his uncle by force. Cue OVER THE TOP FIGHTING here.

Ahem.

I need to address the Keiji vs Toshiie fight… It was the way the blows were being landed on one another. Sure, Keiji landed more hits and proved he was a stronger fighter, but why did it look like they were beating the hell out of each other with bats or something? Keiji had that big ass sword, and i’m SURE he used the sharp edge of his sword to hit Toshiie with it. I mean, I know Keiji had no intention of KILLING his own uncle, but to me, he looked like he’s been using the sharp side of his sword, yet it SOUNDS like he’s using the blunt side… soo… WTF was going on? Gah. What the fuck am i doing applying logic to THIS show? >_>

So. Date uses his epic ENGRISH to make his men stand up. HIS OWN ENGRISH IS A PHOENIX DOWN.

Goddammit Date, stop making Engrish sound so awesome! Of course, the one we should be thanking for the epic Engrish deliveries is his voice actor, Kazuya Nakai.

Anywho, Hideyoshi makes it clear that he doesn’t NEED a weapon; HE HAS HIS FIST.

Ah, we don’t get to see the fight between Date and Hideyoshi yet. It cuts to a scene with Yukimura and his men continuing to head west. He stops though to help a few old villagers to their feet, as they were in need for a bit.

It’s then that he started hearing an eerily familiar voice. And when i said “WHAT THE FUCK” out loud.

I thought to myself…
