Darker Than BLACK 2 Episode 10 – A Contractor’s Tears
When Darker Than BLACK 2 does it right, it does it right.
We start with Kirihara, driving off. Suou’s mother knows nothing about her being there. She thinks she’s going crazy. Suou asks if she remembers the aquarium, but she doesn’t. Suou gets out of the car, and July follows. Mao’s left in the car. Later, Kirihara is getting a nice refreshing drink at a vending machine, when she finds Suou and July sleeping there. How moe. >.> She takes them into the car, and after waking up, Suou tells Kirihara that Hei hits her, but that he stopped drinking. Kirihara gives the two something to eat. Meanwhile, Mao’s looking at Suou’s mother. Looks like he has an ankle fetish. Then, HOLY SHIT, Human!Mao is shown. Whoa. =D Kirihara asks Suou’s mother about her husband, and she says something about the Syndicate. Looks like she has a connection. Mao told Suou and July about the second tie he saw Suou’s mother. He reveals when he took a cat’s form, and on that day, an explosion occurred, and Suou died.
If you’re wondering, Youko is the adult version of Mikuru Asahina.
After the eyecatch. Hei is interrogating Youko about where Izanami is. She says that Izanami and Izanagi can’t meet. Something will happen to Hazuki. Hei says he’ll stop it. On his way out, Orielle appears and starts talking to Hei about him letting Suou go freely. Suou’s mother Asako continues her story. She found Suou’s father using ME on her, so that she will eternally be theirs. Mao jumps on Mikaihal’s face, and Asako is able to get Suou out. Shion chooses to stay. Asako goes on to say that she cremated Suou’s body, and returned to Japan with her remains. She says this Suou impostor is a monster created from Shion’s warped imagination and ability. Suou runs off, but is only at the front of the complex, when Hei appears and knocks Kirihara down. He wants to know why she’s in Section 3. She doesn’t answer, but Hei runs off with the others. The long haired Contractor finds Youko deader than DEAD, and kisses her. He says he’ll kill BK-201. Later, Hei and the others are riding a bus, and Mao says Hei should apologize. Shion and his father discuss about those fake aquarium memories. Shion says that Suou needs to learn and feel what true pain is. I’m tempted to call him the douchebag of the season. Perhaps tied with Arclight from Needless, but Shion’s more of a douche, actually. Suou wants Hei to believe in her, and she begins crying. ;_; Damn, what a sad episode this has been. She wants to know why she was so lonely when her and Hei separated. Hei tells her not to think about it anymore, and while her and July are asleep, Mao and Hei are talking about her. Mao asks if Hei thinks of Suou as someone like his sister. Hei says that they can’t be swayed, and at the end of the episode, Hei and Mao see something.
Credits roll… The city’s looking up, and the moon has appeared, and we see…
But seriously, another 5/5 episode.
There was also a cool Durarara!! preview after the next episode preview. I’ll blog DRRR!! for the winter season, so get ready!

good episode…but as I’ve said before…the main story has kicked in far too late…I fear this season will also go the way as season 1 and end terribly…so here’s to hoping for a S3. Also not sure how I feel about Nia Yin…like srsly no one had any idea at all she was this important prior to this season?

I don’t know…. I thought the first season was fine whereas I’d agree the second season was slipping for the last 7 or 8 episodes.
